BSB Design’s Los Angeles office, took home three honors at last week’s Homes Within Reach Awards. The program, administered through the Southern California Association of Non-Profit Housing (SCANPH), recognizes excellence in affordable housing as part of the organization’s Annual Conference.

The firm’s Bloomington Grove, a 120-unit affordable and permanent supportive community developed as a public-private partnership between Related California and the County of San Bernardino, won honors in the Transformative Communities category for its catalytic change of the surrounding area and highly successful development model. Bloomington was developed jointly with Lillian Court, a senior affordable apartment development. According to Senior Project Manager Mauricio Munoz, who has overseen design through the multi-phase project, the community delivers an excellent model of multi-generational living that can also serve a diverse constituency.

The 40-unit Bloom at Magnolia in Central Long Beach and 74-unit Missouri Place in Los Angeles’ Westside both received honorable mentions.
