Vintage Crossings Preschool
The City of Anaheim requested that a public preschool, operated by the local school district, be included as part of the program for Vintage Crossings, an affordable family community in the Avon-Dakota neighborhood. Because the preschool would be utilized by both the residents and neighborhood families, the architects gave special attention to the location of the 1,600-square-foot space, as well as to the entries and exits to and from the classroom. There is even a four-foot high doorway to the adjacent playground for the children to use.
The high-ceilinged space features playful clerestory and stained glass windows and kid-appropriate furnishings. There are a variety of spaces for play and plenty of convenient storage. The preschool is a welcome addition to both Vintage Crossings and the larger neighborhood.
