Beach Terrace Apartments is a HUD-funded, 42-unit affordable housing development located less than five miles from LAX and just north of the Metro Crenshaw/LAX transit line. The three-story construction includes two elevated courtyards, one with a tot lot. Community spaces and multi-bedroom units face the garden areas, providing amenities and promoting a family-friendly atmosphere while maximizing natural light and air circulation.
On the ground level, fire department access lanes on both sides of the development serve as entrances to on-grade, gated parking and visitor parking stalls. This design choice allowed for a slight depression of on-grade unit gardens, enhancing privacy. By locating the parking entrances on the sides of the property, the street elevation was preserved for landscaping and pedestrian activities.
