Nutri-Bon, a manufacturer of straws and distributor of foodservice paper and plastic products, selected BSB Design, to repurpose an existing 68,000-square-foot structure into their headquarters and warehouse facility. As an adaptive reuse of an automotive supply showroom, the design capitalized on the original structure’s large volumes to create executive suites, workspaces, and an adjacent warehouse. Together with a natural material and soothing color palette, the facility embodies Nutri-Bon’s brand and serves their everyday needs.
While improvements to the exterior mostly consisted of material upgrades and a new color scheme, interior efforts re-envisioned the nearly double-height volumes for a high-end 11,000-square-foot office. The firm also designed new racking in the company’s warehouse space.
An entry vestibule and subsequent reception desk directs visitors to a central seating area and glass-enclosed conference room. Flanking the entry zone to one side is a series of five private offices, four of which include private bathrooms. Each is tailored to the executives of this family-owned business, but feel cohesive thanks to materials that work off an earth-fire-water triad.
On the other side are open workspaces and smaller enclosed offices for a workforce of 16, a break room, storage areas and connections to the company’s warehouse. A warm grey color scheme punctuated by a soft yellow furthers the mood of relaxed sophistication.
